Non mi piace unirmi al coro di quelli che si lamentano del proprio paese ma ho bisogno di sfogarmi con qualcuno.
Premessa: ogni due anni le graduatorie per l’insegnamento delle materie alle quali sono abilitato devono essere
aggiornate, mi viene quindi richiesto di ripresentare ogni due anni circe 15 fogli in doppia copia i miei punteggi
e le scuole nelle quali voglio essere inserito (circa 20).
Le ultime due volte ho dovuto perdere circa due ore per volta per capire come calcolare i punteggi e come segnare
i codici delle scuole per le quali volevo essere incluso.
Dopo questa pappardella, occorreva presentarsi (muniti di documento di identità) presso la prima scuola della lista
incriminata per essere iscritto.
Quest’anno, dopo sfanfaramenti sulla sburocratizzazione dello stato hanno deciso di mettere su web la procedura di inserimento
delle scuole suddette.
Non so chi ha progettato il sistema, tuttavia la prassi prevederebbe:
1) registrazione dell’utente sul portale della pubblica istruzione, che prevede l’inserimento in un form di parecchi campi.
2) ricezione della prima e-mail certificante l’accreditamento dell’utente sul portale con relativa password.
3) a questo punto presentarsi con la stampa della mail e un documento d’identità con la domanda presso la prima scuola nella quale si vuole essere inclusi.
4) una volta che ti hanno accreditato presso la scuola vai sul portale inserisci il primo username, e la prima password e ti viene
inviata la seconda password.
5) Una volta in possesso della prima e della seconda password puoi effettivamente essere attivato sul portale previo inserimento
della tua password definitiva con combinazione di prima password,seconda password, cognome da nubile di tua madre.
6) a questo punto completare l’inserimento degli istituti prescelti

Se vi sembra complicato sappiate che sono riuscito ad arrivare al punto 5 alle ore 23:00, ma purtroppo sembra che non abbiano una banda molto buona,
quindi sono lentissimo anche solo per andare da una pagina all’altra. Finalmente dopo smadonnamenti vari riesco ad entrare per tentare di farmi assegnare una password. A questo punto clicco
sul conferma per continuare e andare alla sezione per inserire i dati e… Il sito mi butta fuori dicendo che è in manutenzione…

AARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!

Se questà è l’idea di automatizzare le procedure, mi sa che meglio se ritorniamo alla carta, che forse è ancora troppo tecnologicamente avanzata,
chissà meglio la pietra nella quale resteranno per millenni i simboli della nostra italica stupidità. A cosa serve avere un oracle application server
sotto che fa tutto quando poi il procedimento per registrarsi è una mostruosità simile?

I link from keplero I link with pleasure, a beautiful study published on arxiv.org, developed by a class of the Liceo Scientifico “A. Vallisneri” in Lucca.

Armed with a mp3 with the conversations of Neil armstrong with Houston, thanks to the echo leading and with the help of the software audacity, these students have succeeded in establishing the distance of the earth from the moon, by calculating it in around 3.93 x 10^8 mt. Not to bad for an Italian school, that seems more and more ruined in the national newscasts. This study could have been the proof of the fact that we have really gone to the moon, if we don’t hypothesize a plot that an echo of artificial return has been created for this purpurse….

Finally standing ovation for the researcher Luca Girlanda (perhaps precarious) at 1000 €/month that conducted the study, go on we are with you…

The new bulletin of the AMS is you with a not so simple paper about matrices multiplication.

Ok maybe the two or three of you who’s reading this blog will problably know the standard algorithm to multiply two matrices let say A and B are 2×2 matrices in R you need to compute 8 multiplication two find the result matrix. Ok that was not so difficult, in fact for a nxn matrix you will need n^3 multiplication to computer the result. The hard part for a pc in term of complexity is the product so if whe minimize the product it is possible to minimize the cost of elaboration by a computer. In 1969 Strassen proced that with a tricky observation it is possible to computer the product of a 2×2 matrices with only 7 product.It seems not a big result but this with appropriate generalization could lead to compute the product of a 2^k x 2^k matrices with 7^k multiplications in place of (2^k)^3 standard multiplication. This means that for a 32×32 matrix (k=5) this will lead to 7^5=16807 multiplications instead of 32^3=32768, which is as least the half.

I have to try a python test to verify that is at least the half in terms of times. In fact I haven’t finish the paper but one simple question arise: is it possible to find an algorithm for a 2×2 matrices multiplications that use only 6 multiplications?
